The Kilmore & District Hospital is very sad to learn that one of our most loved and valued volunteers, Lorraine Marie, has passed away.
Lorraine was actively involved in many aspects of volunteering at our hospital over the last 20 years. Lorraine was president of the Hospital Auxiliary and served tirelessly on that committee for many years. She was also a regular volunteer at Caladenia, being involved with the Meals Assist Program with our residents; she also delivered flowers to patients at the hospital and supported many other hospital initiatives. Lorraine also worked at the Hospital Opp Shop for many years. She was always known as a caring person who found the time to visit unwell or struggling people within the community - caring that generally goes unrecognised other than from those receiving it.
Lorraine was a very unassuming, humble, yet committed volunteer. She willingly contributed wherever it was requested or needed and whilst often seen volunteering at events and activities throughout her week she was also known to be quietly working on projects at home making items to donate to someone in need or to raise money for the hospital. Only last week, Lorraine was involved with the Hospital Auxiliary in organising a Fashion Parade in Kilmore for the hospital.
Lorraine will be very much missed by us all at Kilmore Hospital and I know that our staff and volunteers who have worked with and come to know Lorraine personally over the years will feel this loss very deeply.
Our deepest sympathy is also extended to Lorraine’s family and to her many friends throughout the community.
